On September 4, 2026, Air China restored direct Bucharest–Beijing flights, reconnecting Romania and China by air after more than two decades. For Romanian companies working with suppliers, partners, or teams in China, the nonstop service reduces travel time and makes business trips easier to organize.
Direct Bucharest Beijing Flights Three Times a Week
Air China flies the Beijing (PEK)–Bucharest (OTP)–Zagreb (ZAG) route every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The direct Bucharest Beijing flights takes approximately ten and a half hours.
The schedule for direct Bucharest Beijing flights is particularly convenient for business trips with meetings planned on the day of arrival. The flight departs Bucharest at 5:25 p.m. and reaches Beijing the following morning after roughly 10 hours and 30 minutes, leaving time for meetings that same day. On the return trip, the aircraft lands at Henri Coandă International Airport at 6:20 a.m.
The route uses an Airbus A330-200 with 18 Business Class seats for passengers seeking a more comfortable flight.
Easier Business Travel
Without a layover or the time spent between connecting flights, the direct Bucharest–Beijing service simplifies supplier visits, negotiations, partner meetings, and attendance at trade shows and events in the Chinese capital.
Three weekly departures give companies greater flexibility to select travel dates around their meeting schedules and the length of their trips.
Visa-Free Stays of Up to 30 Days
Romanian citizens can travel to China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, including tourism, business, family visits, and transit, under China’s unilateral visa exemption policy extended to Romania in November 2024.
For businesses, direct Bucharest Beijing flights and visa-free entry provide greater flexibility when arranging trips, including those planned on short notice.
Beijing: A Gateway to China and Asia
For companies with partners or operations elsewhere in China or Asia, the service from Bucharest can form part of a broader itinerary, with domestic or international connections to their final destinations.
