Rosewood Amsterdam Hotel 5*
Located in the former Palace of Justice within Amsterdam’s canal district (Grachtengordel)—a UNESCO World Heritage site—Rosewood Amsterdam 5* welcomes its first guests starting May 1, 2025.
A New Chapter for the Historic Palace of Justice Building
The former Palace of Justice begins a new life, restored to the city’s architectural memory as a luxury hotel under the Rosewood Amsterdam brand. This remarkable property is the last hotel development permitted within a historic heritage building in Amsterdam, consolidating Rosewood’s position at the forefront of luxury hospitality. The new hotel offers an authentic cultural experience where history intertwines harmoniously with modernity and contemporary elegance.
Following a restoration process spanning ten years, Rosewood Amsterdam returns a building of significant importance to the city. Built in 1665 on the banks of UNESCO-listed canals, the former Palace of Justice becomes the symbol of a new hospitality philosophy—one that is sustainable, circular, and deeply connected to the local community. The project reflects the brand’s A Sense of Place® vision, translated through personalized services and spaces that bear the hallmark of their location.
What Does the Rosewood Amsterdam Experience Entail?
„Our mission is to craft an experience where Amsterdam’s rich history and culture intertwine with Rosewood’s distinctive lifestyle. By honoring the architectural legacy of the former Palace of Justice and creating thoughtfully designed spaces, we are not only restoring a cherished landmark for the people of Amsterdam but also inviting guests to immerse themselves in the heart of this vibrant city. It’s a celebration of heritage, innovation and meaningful connections.”
— Thomas Harlander, Managing Director of Rosewood Amsterdam
